Last night I was able to get the short story/ebook Into the Nowhere-which was the second story in the Time Trips series. This morning I finished it (it was only like 40 pages), and decided to a review on it.
Overview:
The Doctor and Clara end up on an unknown planet-no map or star chart have it listed, and even the TARDIS doesn't recognize it. When the two start to investigate, they find out that the planet has a dark history-one that may be entwined with the Doctor's own past.
Review:
I've heard about this book, and was finally able to get it last night. This morning I finished it, and I was impressed by the book, if not slightly irritated. For one-it was over far too quickly! Secondly, (SPOILERS FOLLOW) it never really explained how the Doctor's past was connected to the Mysterious Planet's history. (END OF SPOILERS). I was happy to have one last adventure with Eleven and Clara (as I re-watched The Time of the Doctor yesterday and have now gone back into PDWD-Post Doctor Who Depression-from the regeneration of my favorite Doctor), even if I got slightly lost in the book sometimes. The book had a couple of twists, and was a good story, if not a bit confusing for me. I may have to re-read it again (I'm not complaining) to fully grasp the story. It had several wonderful scenes between the Doctor and Clara, and the characters are not out of character-I've read a comic book that was just awful with the characterization of those two-so much, but if Clara was a little, it's not all surprising as she's still in her first season, and I've noticed that books with the companions/Doctor in their first season don't nail the characterization so well. In all, it was a fun little book, with some great scenes, though slightly confusing at times, it was a fun little trip with the duo.
Stars:
Three out of Five (may go up some when I re-read it)

While I will probably not read this, I might want to try a Doctor Who book sometime. :)
