Breaking News: New Companion and a Spidey Trailer

Well, when I woke up this morning, I did not feel the disturbance of the force of two big pieces of news. One came from Doctor Who; a character called Danny Pink, who works at Coal Hill School with Clara Oswald, will be becoming a recurring character (companion possibly?). I like the fact that this means we've now met two different teachers from Coal Hill School (excluding Clara), and I'm hoping we get to meet more.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 also brought news in today in the form of a new trailer (again? Yeah, again, but every single time a new trailer comes out, the more awesome it looks-however, as much as I love new trailers, I think they should pull a Captain America: The Winter Soldier and give us a few trailers without spoiling much). The trailer itself looks awesome, and there is a very, very, very, very bad piece of foreshadowing in the trailer (even if my spidey-senses have already said it'll happen.). See it below (I squealed when I saw the doors opening in homage to the Sinister Six).

  1. Even though the other Doctors have had a trio of companions, I am not sure if I like the idea of adding other companion, who will likely end up being a romantic interest for Clara, or maybe he won't. Really, I suppose I will just need to wait until I see it to make my decision.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 trailer looks awesome! I can't wait to see the movie, even if the trailer spoils WAY too much.

  2. Well, they never actually called Danny a companion in the article, just a recurring character, which is pretty much what Rory was in his first series, so you never know, Danny could end up being a full companion, which is a really nice nod to the start of the show. People have been mentioning he could be a romantic interest, but I'm not sure if they'll go that route. I mean, we just had that with the Ponds.
Yeah, the trailer does spoil a lot for Spidey 2, and it'd be nice if they would go the Winter Solider route, as I said above, with shorter trailers, and less footage. But, technically, does the one thing they really spoil in the trailer really a spoiler? I mean (SPOILERS AHEAD-really well-known spoilers, but still) pretty much everyone knows that Gwen dies, and if they didn't, I'm sure they've done found an article on it by now. That, and the fact that it's been in pretty much every trailer they've come out with. Will it happen? My spidey-senses are saying yes. I can't wait till May, and it looks awesome, and I'm going to be bringing tissues with me (just in case).
