Best Of 2014 (Television)

Hello, dear readers! I hope you've all enjoyed a happy New Year's. If you haven't noticed, I've redecorated a little bit, complete with a new logo (clip art courtesy of the royalty free clipart website, openclipart). Anyway, to celebrate the new year, I'm going back in time to last year, to review the Entertainment of 2014, in this installment I'll be focusing on Television. Spoilers obviously follow below, but I'll try to put warnings on the really spoiler-y areas.

Best Television Return (Season Premiere): Doctor Who
While this could easily have gone to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., the season premiere I enjoyed the most was definitely Doctor Who's. The show returned in full force with a new title sequence, theme and a brand new (and already quite beloved) Doctor. Peter Capaldi made his first full appearance (after briefly showing up in the 50th Special, Day of the Doctor, as well as appearing at the end of Time of the Doctor). The premiere had it all: humor, heart-wrenching moments (*cough*, phone call, *cough), blasts from the past, and even a T-Rex in the London Thames! How's that for an opening?
Honorable Mentions: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Castle, Sleepy Hollow

Sleepy Hollow: Season One Review

Hello, I'm back with a new review. I was just able to watch the two-hour season finale of Sleepy Hollow, and while I was watching, I thought I'd do a review on the whole season (which was 13 episodes).

Overview:
When Ichabod Crane awakens to find himself in modern times, he is united with Abigail Mills, and the two must stop supernatural forces from starting the Apocalypse.

Review:
When I saw the trailers for the show, I thought it might be an okay show, but wasn't going to watch it. Then my parents started watching it, and urged me to watch. One night, a couple months ago, I took the plunge and went back and did a marathon of episodes I'd missed. I was surprised to find that I enjoyed the show as much as I did. Admittedly, I did miss three or four episodes, however I'm still going to review the series.
The show was surprisingly good, and humorous, however most of the humor is Crane attempting to adjust to modern times. The show is slightly scary (somewhat even for me and I watch shows like Sleepy Hollow a lot, examples of this would be Supernatural and Ravenswood), but still retains a slight light-hearted air with the humor.
What I've seen of the first season was good, and the two-hour season finale was amazing, and had a major reveal and cliffhanger (that I will not reveal here because of obvious reasons) that had me shocked and anxious for the next season, which doesn't air until next Fall.
In all, the show is good fun, and is one of the better shows on television, and has definitely marched up to one of my slots of favorite shows (however, Doctor Who and Castle are still at the top of that list).

Stars:
Five out of Five

Notes:
Alright, well, there may not be very many reviews in the upcoming weeks because hardly any shows are on except for Pretty Little Liars, and....well, I think that's pretty much it. However, I may start reviewing movies that I've watched before, but haven't posted the reviews of them. So, in all, it just might be a busy week.

Have you seen Sleepy Hollow? What did you think of the show? Comment below!
