The Droids Hit the Stage!

The Oscars were last night and, despite not winning anything, the Star Wars tributes were in full swing last night, including a special appearance by three very familiar droids! Yes, that's right; Threepio, R2 and BB-8 made their way on stage, after a mishap of trying to find their seats.
Of course, BB-8 couldn't help but tease Threepio a little bit about how similar he looks to the Oscar statue.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens TV Spot #5 Released

With just a month left on the countdown to the Force Awakens, fans have been given another glimpse at the new movie with another TV spot. The teaser focuses mainly on Finn (John Boyega) and gives us another glimpse at Han and Chewie. Oh, and lots of the First Order. Check it out below!

New Star Wars: The Force Awakens TV Spot Released!

Tonight during ABC's TGIT line up (Grey's Anatomy, Scandal, and How to Get Away with Murder), they released the second TV Spot for the Force Awakens, the first of three movies that will serve as a Sequel Trilogy to the original films (A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi). It will be released on December 18th (and in some places, December 17th). Check out the trailer below, which starts about a minute in.

Duracell Star Wars Commercial Released

 Duracell really understands how it feels to be a Star Wars fan-the commercial describes perfectly how it feels when you pick up a lightsaber toy. Either way, it's an awesome little commercial and I'm pretty sure every Star Wars fan alive can relate!

Star Wars: Force Awakens Teaser 2 Released

At Star Wars Celebration, they revealed a brand new teaser for The Force Awakens, and I've got three words for you: Han and Chewie! The trailer is fantastic, still maintaining it's suspense, but still absolutely Star Wars. While I'm not sure if it's the trailer to be released in front of AOU, it's still bloody fantastic!

Star Wars: Episode VIII & Rouge One Spin Off Announced

There has indeed been yet another disturbance in the Force, this time with the announcement that Star Wars: Episode VIII will hit theaters May 26th, 2017, to be directed by Rian Johnson. Also announced was a spin off film, titled 'Rouge One' (as in the infamous Rebel Squadron, yes) and is to be released next year on December 16th.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens Teaser Trailer Released

There has been a disturbance in the Force......and it's because of the brand new, official trailer for Episode 7. After many months of waiting-honestly, I can't remember the last bit of news we actually got-we've finally got an official trailer! See it below along with my thoughts....


It's only about 80 seconds long, but boy does it look awesome. I can't help but go 'oooh, are they related to [insert character name here]' a lot. I'll definitely be watching this over and over and over and over again when I get the time. Between Age of Ultron and The Force Awakens, 2015's going to be a great year.

Star Wars: Episode VII Title Revealed

There's been a disturbance in the Force......
The title for the seventh (eighth, if you count the cinematic release of Star Wars: The Clone Wars) Star Wars movie (directed/co-written by Star Trek's J.J. Abrams) has been revealed, by the Star Wars twitter account as 'The Force Awakens'.

Star Wars Rebels: Extended Trailer Released

Yesterday we were given a glimpse once more into the wonderful world of Star Wars Rebels (how I missed this news, I will never know), and what a wonderful treat it was. However, before continuing, I would like to say that the trailer appears to have spoilers in it, particularly for a cameo which I can only imagine is for the first episode.
 Okay, now that that's out of the way, can I just say how awesome this looks (even with the announcer in the background)? I mean it-it's looks awesome, and I shall definitely be watching it. Along with the trailer, we were given a month for when it will air (no date), which will be October. Kind of late to the game, but still; it looks awesome!

Star Wars Rebels: Full Trailer Released

Alright, they released this one last week, and dummy old me forgot to post about it. Well, actually, I thought I did post it, but I didn't, so, here we are.

Okay. I'm excited. This looks cool, and I really think that the style of animation fits the show (from what I've seen so far). Also, I think Sabine (The girl in the colorful Mandalore armor) will probably be my favorite, as she's described as an artist and an explosive expert. I'm really looking forward to Star Wars Rebels, and I think it's going to be a great show!

Star Wars: Return of the Jedi Review

Note: This one is done by memory, as I didn't have it watched in time for today (we were Netflixing last night till almost 11:00pm. No way could I have managed to watch it-though I thought about it), so here we are, the last review, and you know what today is? Star Wars Day! Whoo!

Synopsis:

The Galactic Civil War is nearing it's end, as the Emperor reveals himself to our heroes. Meanwhile, our Rebels make a daring attempt to rescue their friend, Han Solo, from Jabba the Hut. 

Review:

Admittedly, I think this is my favorite of the original trilogy, I'm not sure why (could because the Ewoks are adorable), but I do love this movie. It's a brilliant film, a great movie, an awesome adventure, gives us answers to questions, reveals yet another Skywalker-Plot Twist, ends the war that started it all, and gave us a great ending for a great saga (at that point, anyway). In all, it's a great film. Seriously.

 Well, Star Wars fans, it's our day-It's Star Wars Day-May the Fourth. (I believe tomorrow is 'Revenge of the *Fifth, I saw that somewhere...I think it was a marathon for Clone Wars on Cartoon Network)

 I grew up with Star Wars. Watched it my whole life, the same with Star Trek (although, I'm just now really getting into Star Trek, so), and I really, really just wanted to wish every Star Wars fan in the universe (and galaxies far, far away), a great big MAY THE FORTH BE WITH YOU, and HAPPY STAR WARS DAY! A great big thanks to all those wonderful people behind the Star Wars films, and the ones that are behind the new ones, and thanks for one great ride!

Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back Review

Well, last night, I managed to watch this one in the nick of time for this review. Sorry for it taking so long to post it, but I've been out with my Mom and Grandparents today, and mainly forgot to schedule this post, so...
 Onto the review!
(Sorry if my writing isn't as good today, I'm tired, so.)

Synopsis:
When Luke Skywalker sees Obi-Wan Kenobi once more, telling him to find a Jedi Master, he and R2 goes to Dagabah to try and find Jedi Master Yoda. Meanwhile, Han, Leia, Chewie and C3P0 try to escape the Empire.

Review:
Some consider this the best Star Wars film of all time (if not the best movie of all time, but for me, that honor goes to the Avengers). What do I think of that title? Well, I don't really have an opinion on that, because I love all the movies, and don't have a favorite.
 But that doesn't stop this movie from being great, and a great second chapter to the Star Wars saga. It shows our Rebel Trio (plus Chewie, R2 and C3P0) getting along better than in a New Hope, (something I noted a long time ago) and introduces us to some new characters, who ended up being fan-favorites (Boba Fett, Lando). It also revealed to us a major bombshell: (Spoilers. Really well known spoilers, but Spoilers) Vader is Luke's father...dun, dun, dun! Also, it plants seeds to another reveal which would be in Return of the Jedi (which I'll watch tonight, and review in the morning). All in all, awesome movie, awesome saga.

Star Wars: A New Hope Review

 Today is the review for the movie that started it all: Star Wars, now referred to as Star Wars: A New Hope. It introduces us to characters we've all come to know and love, such as Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Princess Leia Organa, Chewbacca 'Chewie', R2D2, C3P0, and Darth Vader. It's the movie that started it all, and it's a fantastic one at that.

Synopsis:
During an attempt to get to Tatooine to find Obi-Wan Kenobi, Princess Leia Organa is captured by Imperial Forces, the government that oversees the universe, otherwise known as The Empire, led by the Emperor and his apprentice, Darth Vader. Leia, who is a leader of the Rebel Alliance-an organization that stands opposed to the Empire-, quickly enlists R2D2 to aid her in her attempts to find Obi-Wan Kenobi, and eventually, young Luke Skywalker ends up in the adventure of a life time.

Review:
This movie is the one that started it all, and it's easily one of the best Star Wars movies, though all of them are the best. The cast is terrific (duh), Tarkin is just as infuriating as always (I despise that man with a passion...*minor spoilers* this is why I don't watch episodes of Clone Wars with him in it), it's hilarious, entertaining, brilliant, exciting, awesome, epic, it's Star Wars. There aren't any words how well this movie is. If you haven't seen it, you're missing out.
 (Though, seriously, you need to see it)

Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith Review

Today, I'm reviewing the last movie in the Star Wars prequels, which ties the saga into a neat little package,
and shows the downfall of Anakin Skywalker. I didn't quite like this movie when I was a kid, but going back to it, it was quite a good movie.
 Onto the review!

Synopsis:
The Clone Wars is nearing an end, and Master Obi-Wan Kenobi, and his former apprentice, Anakin Skywalker, must save the Chancellor Palpatine from the Separatists. But, Anakin begins to have nightmares of a death that haunts him, and eventually leads him to his downfall.

Review:
Wow. Okay, this movie was a lot more better than I remember it being. For one, watching this after Star Wars: The Clone Wars, scenes are a lot more painful. For one, the Temple March, you know, that infamous scene when the 501st and Vader attack the Temple? Well, I noticed something while watching it; the staircase he walks up before they kill the Jedi, is the same one that Ahsoka walked down when she-*Spoilers for The Wrong Jedi* left the Jedi Order.
 Anyway, the effects still stand out well today, as the other movies, but in some scenes, not quite as well. The story itself is great, and I still don't see why people don't like these movies. This movie is the darkest of all the Star Wars movies, and I think it's sort of fitting. The movie wraps up the saga, and ties everything together.
 I always feel sad when the Jedi die in the movie, but this time I actually shed some tears, and I think that's in part to Clone Wars, because there we met them in proper, and learned stuff about them. So, yeah, it's quite interesting. One of the things going back to it, is that, for me, it's hard to like some of the Jedi, because, in a weird way, Anakin was right: the Jedi had lost their way, and that's even more evident in the later seasons of Clone Wars, particularly in season five and six, and I won't mention some things due to spoilers. I watched this movie knowing the end to the Clone arc in Season Six (I hadn't watched the episode yet, but I knew what it was), and things made more sense to me, and now I don't hate the Clones anymore (I did not like them after I watched this movie. At all. Rex is actually the first clone I ever actually liked).
 The movie is a great movie, if not a bit long, and has plenty of clever one-liners, has sad moments, and plenty of action. The end fight scene with The Emperor vs Yoda, Obi-Wan vs Anakin, were all brilliantly done. And unlike Luke from Gilmore Girls, I don't mind the end of the fight scene with Obi-Wan and Anakin.
Also, the soundtrack, Battle of the Heroes, is awesome. Really.

THIS IS NOT A DRILL PEOPLE!!!
I'm grinning like a mad man right now, but anyway, the cast has FINALLY BEEN REVEALED FOR EPISODE VII!!!! Okay, I'm kind of freaking out right now, but here's the full cast, as revealed by Disney today:
John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Issac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, and Max von Sydow shall join the ORIGINAL CAST, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker in the Episode Seven.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season Six Review

Me and my parents recently got Netflix again (yay!), and one of the things new on there, was Clone Wars, which, admittedly, I forgot was on there, I do believe. We've had Netflix back for over a month now, but I just couldn't bring myself to watch the last series. This week, I decided to watch the last episode, and it was amazing, and had me jumping up and down around the house (Whovians, you remember how Amy was dancing around when she first saw Vincent Van Gogh in Vincent and the Doctor? That's what I looked like at the end of the episode). So, when my Dad got home from work, I told him about it, in what detail I could. The next night I caught him watching it, so I sat down and joined him. And, well, for the past couple nights, we've been marathoning it. So, I've decided to write a Spoiler-Free review for those who haven't seen the season yet.

 Synopsis:
The Clone Wars is nearing the battle's end, and as the war draws to a slow close, our heroes are facing tasks and questions that will change their lives forever.

Review:
There were four arcs in the series: the first one was about the Clones, which revealed some...interesting information about the Clones. The second was about Padme, and a Sepertist guy named Clofis (I think he was in season 2, I think. I can't be sure, I haven't seen all the episodes of Clone Wars). This arc added a lot of drama to Anakin and Padme's relationship. To say the least. The third arc was one of the funniest, and I'm glad it was the last arc we watched: Mace Windu and Jar Jar Binks have to team up together, to help solve a mystery. Their partnership was funny, and Jar Jar was funny as always (I like Jar Jar, okay? I know that's like blasphemy, but I like Jar Jar. Always have. I feel for Jar Jar. He's clumsy. Like me.) Anyway, this arc added some information about Jar Jar, not much about Mace Windu, but also brought about a return from a character from season three. The fourth and final arc of the series was about Yoda, and it was...well, it was pretty darn strange, to be honest. I can't really explain it, 'cos it would spoil stuff, and it's weird. But I will say there are cameos in that arc. Cameos I'm glad were in there.
 This season, the animation was pretty top-notch. I mean, when it got to scenery and stuff, it was like it could've been in a movie. The acting was top notch too. Everything was top-notch. The only thing I kind of wish was that we could've gotten an arc about Ahsoka, cause we don't really know what happened to her. One of the strange things is that Anakin doesn't really even mention Ahsoka in the episodes.
 This series was a good 'goodbye' series, but if I'm honest, I'd have to say that I liked 'The Wrong Jedi'  better as a series finale. It just felt more 'series finale'-y than the actual series finale, or what would've been it's finale.
  It's sad to see that the Clone Wars had so many awesome stories to be told when it was cancelled, and that it would add a lot of information on characters we know, but don't know much about. However, watching this season has made me a lot more excited about Star Wars: Rebels. Who knows? Ahsoka may show up in that one. Let's just hope it's not just an appearance to kill her off.
 Anyway, this season might not be my favorite (my favorite season has to be the third season, because a lot of my favorite episodes are from that season. I love the episodes with Padme and Ahsoka, and I love, love, love the Mortis trilogy.) but it was a nice swan-song to The Clone Wars. This season also added a new favorite droid character for me: AZ3 (I think that's his name). He was a cute little droid, and I wish we really saw more of him before the series ended.
 So, Au Revoir, Clone Wars. And-dare I say it?-May the force be with you.

Star Wars VII Begins Filming In May

A short time ago, in a galaxy not that far away, a bit of news was released about the infamous, the extraordinary, the unbelievable, the something or another, the Star Wars Episode VII! If you couldn't tell from the title, they are supposed to start filming in May, which is just two months from now, so we should be getting some casting news soon. Like, now soon. With any luck.
 May the Fourth be With them....
 Get it? Get it? Oh, never mind.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Season Six Trailer Revealed

Before I continue on, I know the glimmer of hope this title may present, but unfortunately, Clone Wars is still cancelled. However, I hope some of you out there has Netflix, because the final (and short) season of the epic animated series will be hitting Netflix in March. Today they released a trailer for the next season, and I have to say, it looks like a whopper!


I'm going to give you all a moment to digest what you just saw for a moment......
Done? Okay, well, this trailer pretty much had me gasping, laughing, and had my eyes widening throughout the whole two minutes and fifty three seconds of it. Does it look good? No. It looks awesome. I mean, Yoda vs. (what I think is) the Emperor? Order 66? Yoda actually having a vision about Order 66? Looking like it was pulled right from the films? Talk about awesome! Hopefully, this season will be placed on the Star Wars website where you can watch it for free, otherwise those without Netflix shall not be able to see it. However, that doesn't change the fact that it looks awesome!

Star Wars Rebels Teaser Trailers Revealed

Not too long ago, in a galaxy not that far away, two official teaser trailers for the upcoming animated series, Star Wars Rebels, has been revealed.
   I'm holding my reservations out on this, because everytime I say something won't be any good, it usually is (see: The Amazing Spider-Man, The Spectacular Spider-Man, the Eleventh Doctor), so I'm just going to wait until the show comes out to voice my opinion.







Star Wars: Rebels comes out this fall, on Disney XD.

Star Wars: Invincible Book Review

I'm back with a review from a galaxy far, far away....you guessed it, if not by reading the title of this post, Star Wars! I'm a huge fan of Star Wars, and have been watching the movies since...well, forever, really. Admittedly, I'm new to the Expanded Universe, by that I mean the universe with Jaina Solo, Allana Solo, and Ben Skywalker. However, I did read about the characters on Wookieepedia, and guessed my favorite characters from there. Just last year, I discovered the book series Young Jedi Knights, but was slightly unimpressed by Jaina Solo, and she didn't end up as a favorite character from that series, however Tenal-Ka managed to do so.
   Last December, I found two of the Legacy of the Force books (Sacrifice-written by Karen Traviss- being the other), and Invincible was one of them. I wasn't quite so fond of Sacrifice and didn't actually finish it, but skimmed through it, mostly because of all the politics, which I'm not particularly a fan of. However, I finished Invincible (written by Troy Denning) within a few days. So, onto the review!

Note: If you don't know about a certain spoiler about a couple of main characters, (unlike me who read it on Wikia) this post has spoilers in it, so be warned!

Overview:
The truth has been revealed; Jacen Solo has fallen to the dark side, and is behind the murder of his own aunt. Now, his twin sister, Jaina Solo, knows what must has to be done, and knows that Jacen, now Darth Caedus, must fall. But can the Sword of the Jedi stop Caedus?

Review:
Now, firstly, I would like to say one thing. The only books I read with these characters in them were when they were teenagers (or younger), basically around my age. Now, fast-forwarding years later where two of them are evil (I still can't believe Jacen is evil, it seems that just last year he was a fourteen year old boy making jokes on Yavin 4! Don't even get me started on Tahiri....). Anyway, onto the actual review. This book was good. It was beyond good. It was action packed, with some slower bits with the Jedi Order attempting to plan on how to stop Jacen. The book was centered mostly around Jaina Solo, but Ben Skywalker had occasional scenes in them, ones that I wasn't mostly fond of. The book had humor at the best times, and shocking revealations in others, and had some particularly awkward scenes. The book actually opened an insight into Boba Fett, which made me like him a little better than I had before, and I particularly liked his slightly father-daughter type relationship with Jaina, being her mentor and all. The biggest moment of the book would probably be the end, the battle between Jaina and Darth Caedus. The book is one of the better Star Wars books, and is the first book I've finished reading of Legacy of the Force. The book also made me like Jaina more, and it had one of my favorite characters in it (Tenal-Ka), if only for a short amount of time. In all, it was a highly entertaining book, and I finished it within a few days.
