After a long wait, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. finally returned to our screens last night, and was it worth
the wait?
I'm sorry, but that information is classified ;)

Mission Details:
Director Coulson orders his new team to try and recover the very first 0-8-4. However, they are opposed by a man with the power to absorb materials....

Spoilers Below-Though Mainly seen in Clips/Trailers.
Review:
Wow. That was some episode. The new season kicked off with the team-May, Skye and Tripp-overseeing the negotiations between their new Agents-Izzy Hartley and Lance Hunter-and a former SHIELD agent who is trying to sell an 0-8-4. Which ends up being the very first 0-8-4 ever found.
The main thing in the episode was revealing how the team dealt with the tragedies of last season; and how they're rebuilding SHIELD. So far, Skye seems to be acting an awful lot like May, so far as even dressing nearly identical to her, even off missions. Tripp had a bigger role, and will hopefully continue to this season, as he's a very like able character. The new characters, Mack, Izzy and Lance, are so far likeable, but not so trust worthy. Lance is really like able, however, with his sarcasm.
There wasn't much about the mysterious writing that Coulson was last seen writing last season, but was shown briefly, revealing that Coulson has had Skye trying to crack it for the past few months. Not much info on Koenig, either, besides Tripp going crazy trying to figure out what he means with mentioning another brother every day.
The main question-for me at least-is what happened to Fitz, who sacrificed himself to save Simmons-who then saved him- in the underwater pod they were trapped in. Did we get answers? Yes. Heartbreaking ones, but not in the way that is to be expected. To be honest, I expected it, because there were plenty of theories-that made sense-that what happened would happen, but it still came as a heart-wrenching shock.
The characters have a lot in store for them this season, and this was a mere glimpse of it. I can't wait to see how season two progresses, and how Fitzsimmons will cope with the trauma that they ensured last season. My whole brain has just been going 'Fitzsimmons' since last night, by the way.

Overview:
4/5

  1. Now this is how to start a new season! I really liked the episode, and the darker tone of the series looks great. I cannot to see where the series goes from here.

The ending with Fitz really hit hard though. It was perfect.

    1. I know, right? I agree, so far the darker tone is going great, but I kind of miss the witty remarks from Skye. However, the scenes with Koenig and Coulson were hilarious. I can't wait either.

I know! I just went 'no...', if I remember correctly. It was perfect, if not heart wrenching. I hope they put Fitzsimmons back together again. I can't really imagine Fitz and Simmons not together!
