Agents of SHIELD: End of the Beginning Review

Note: Spellcheck is not working, again, so if I missed any thing, I'm really sorry)
Last night, Agents of SHIELD returned from a multi-week absence (again) with a smashing episode titled 'End of the Beginning'. Does that title sound like something really bad was bound to happen? Yeah, a little, but did it? Well...eh, you best just read the review.
 Onto the review!
 (Spoilers Follow)

Synopsis:
When Agent Garret and Tripp are attacked by Deathlok, they have a theory that they are getting too close to the Clairvoyant, and end up working alongside Coulson and his team, plus a couple of other SHIELD agents.

Review:
So...wow. I mean, really. This was another smashing episode of Agents of SHIELD (they have yet to do an episode I have despised) and if you were expecting answers from the last episode's major cliffhanger/reveal, you weren't getting it in this episode, that's for sure. There was some major things happening in this episode, and we got some nice moments with the team in the beginning, when Skye finally becomes a SHIELD agent. Beyond that, we got some fantastic moments with Fitzsimmons ("I always imagined you as Watson,"-Fitz), some particularly non-bickering moments between Skye and Ward, ("I don't regret any of my actions."-Ward)and some particularly intense moments towards the end, which had me at the edge of my seat. Did I scream 'WHAT?' again in this episode, er, yeah, but there were a lot of moments for me to go 'What?' at, I sorta forgot when I yelled 'What?' at the screen...eh, anyway, I missed a couple of moments in the episode, but quickly got caught up again, so it felt like I didn't really miss anything, I was always in the loop (which is good for just tuning in viewers out there), and the Clairvoyant thing...well, that just was completely unexpected, I mean, really unexpected. And what does he want with Skye? Hmm....could it be because of the blue alien thing?
Speaking of Skye, she and Fitzsimmons had a very nice moment towards the beginning-"Are you saying we obey the rules?"-and as I said before, there were nice moments with the team at the beginning of the episode, and there was a nice moment with Skye and Garret, when he was telling her how she had changed Ward. But besides the nice moments with the team, let's get onto the main event of the whole episode. Those last five minutes.
  Now here comes the Spoilers
Yowzah! Those were some brilliant five minutes! There was a whole lot of tension in those five minutes, and I was just thinking-well along the lines of- 'Run, Fitz!' (yeah, Fitz has worked his way up to-one of-my favorite characters of the series), and the whole moment of May chasing him basically was really, really interesting, and I'm assuming Skye went to get Coulson, since how for like two minutes or so it was focusing on May and Fitz, and the next time we see Skye and Coulson, they both have a gun pulled on May. So, Fitz is stuck in the lab, Simmons is stuck at a SHIELD base (the hub, I think), Ward is in interrogation (unless he got out), May's pretty much stuck and refusing to talk, Skye and Coulson have a gun trained on May, and-oh yeah!-Agent Hand just ordered the execution of everyone on the plane but Coulson! (I knew that woman was evil!). Oh, and the plane is being controlled by someone else (I dunno, but I don't think even SHIELD could hijack a plane from a SHIELD base a thousand miles away from the plane). Hmm....
End of Spoilers
My favorite moment of the episode is probably the scene with Fitzsimmons with the whole 'I always imagined you as Watson', and the little mouth drop from Fitz when Tripp showed up to take Simmons to the Hub. Of course my favorite line from the episode was from Fitz himself: "Who are you and what have you done with Skye?"

Overview:
4/5

Next Time, on Marvel's Agents of SHIELD

Note: I'm really looking forward to next week, cause I think Coulson, Skye and Fitz would make another awesome trio!
What did you think of 'End of the Beginning'? What revelation were you most shocked at? Who do you think the traitor is? Comment below!
(Also, I believe next week's episode is tied very heavily in with the Winter Soldier, so, there could be spoilers in the next episode, just so yall know!)

  1. Wow! What an episode! I can't wait to see The Winter Soldier to see how the Clairvoyant is. I thought it was Hand for a minute since *Possible Spoiler from the Comics* she was a double agent in the comics I believe. *End Spoiler* I am really liking the tie into the MCU.

I liked the Sherlock references too! It was really funny.

Sorry for the late comment. I did not get to watch the episode until last night.

  2. I know! I'm trying so hard not to read any spoilers for Cap 2 (which is kind of strange for me, since how I usually love spoilers) so I won't find out who the Clairvoyant is, but I've read a couple of things by accident (no Spoiler tag on them), and I'm really hoping they're not true.
I never really liked Hand, to be honest. When she turned around at the end (SPOILERS) I was just like, 'I knew it!'. I know, the more it ties in with the MCU, the more awesome it gets.
The Sherlock Holmes reference was funny, and that was another one of my favorite lines from the episode.
Oh that's fine. Sorry you didn't get to see it until then. Sorry for it taking me such a long time to get back to you!
