Doctor Who: Cold War Review

Doctor Who was in fine form with today's episode, Cold War. The episode was filled with excitement and fear. I can honestly say that it was the first Doctor Who episode that had my heart pounding!

Warning: The Review Holds Major Spoilers for those who have not seen the episode! You have been warned!

Meet The Characters:
The Doctor- A Time Lord who travels through time and space in his trusty TARDIS.
Clara Oswald-The mysterious woman the Doctor's met, and lost, twice has returned as Clara Oswald. This version has started to travel with the Doctor, and finds herself in more adventure.

Technology:
The TARDIS-a bigger on the inside machine that can travel anywhere in time and space.
The Sonic Screwdriver-The Doctor's trusty gadget which can pretty much do everything.

Overview:
On a trip to Vegas, the Doctor and Clara accidentally end up in a submarine, which is now under attack by a Ice Warrior. Soon, they are not only fighting for their own survival, but all of humanity's.

Review:
One of the things I heard about this episode was that it was like the movie Alien. I watched Alien last year, and it had me squealing and gasping five times or more, and I've seen quite a few of horror films in my life. So when Cold War came on today, I knew it would be a fear filled episode. And it was. The music itself helped a lot, in one scene the music sounded like a heart beat,( though that could have been my own, as I mentioned above, this was the first episode that had my heart pounding) the whole episode was amazing. And it really made up for the other episodes I didn't like as much. This season has returned with some brilliantly written episodes, and I cannot wait until next week for Hide-the episode I've been waiting on for weeks!

Notes:
This was the first time I've seen the Ice Warriors as the enemies, I believe.
Clara actually listened to the Doctor-surprise!

  1. Agreed this was an amazing episode! "The Bells of Saint John" and this episode were better than most of the first half of this season, so glad that the series is back and as brilliant as ever.
I really like Clara thus far, she is really fun and clever and has great chemistry with The Doctor. Excellent review!
