Doctor Who: Opening Two Parter Confirmed

Today, we've finally got some Doctor Who news....finally. Today it was announced that the first two episodes would be a two parter(ala,The Impossible Astronaut and Day of the Moon), and are to be titled 'The Magician's Apprentice' and 'The Witch's Familiar', and will feature not only the return of Jemma Redgrave (Kate Stewart) but also Michelle Gomez: Missy herself is to return in the two parter.....a whole slew of guest stars were also confirmed for the episode, and I suppose only time will properly tell (ahh...what a pun) what Missy has up her/his sleeve this time.

Doctor Who: Series 9 News

During an early screening of Last Christmas (you lucky people!), the BBC announced the title name of the first episode of Series 9: The Magician's Apprentice. Naturally, the speculating has begun. As many have made a note of (myself included), the Doctor mentioned in the episode Time Heist that he was 'hoping for minimalism, but came out with magician' in terms of his current incarnation's outfit (after making a couple of ill-remarks to previous outfit statements of previous incarnations, such as the Fourth Doctor's scarf and the Eleventh Doctor's bow-tie). So if the 'magician' refers to the Doctor....who is the apprentice? Of course, I can't help but think it's the sort of title one might give an episode that will feature a new companion......But take of the title what you will. Filming is also supposed to start in early January.
