The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies Review

I'm back, and, finally, the review for The Hobbit and the Very Long Title has come at last! I've promised this review since about two weeks ago, when I saw it in theaters with my parents. So, here we are, finally reviewing this movie!
Synopsis:
With five armies approaching, and the dawn of a battle coming soon, Bilbo Baggins faces one of his most dangerous adventures yet....

Review:
First of all, let me say one thing. There was only one thing I mostly knew about the Hobbit films since I'd only previously seen Desolation of Smaug, and that was 'it's a perfectly happy little tale, it's so lighthearted' (according to my Dad). Well, I think this film proved otherwise. Anyway, the title is basically the film....it's a great big battle scene. While this works if one's sat through the previous film(s), if you haven't and thought the movie looked good from trailers and went and sat through it, you'd probably get irritated that it was just one really long battle scene. The battle scene was huge, spanning across different sets. Lots of sword fights. And bow-and-arrow fights. And magical battles. The plot was pretty simple, but I won't go into details because of spoiler reasons (despite the fact that it's been a book for a very long time). There are some funny scenes in the film (mainly from Bilbo), but the heart wrenching outweighs the funny. I'm not ashamed to admit that I may or may not have teared up at some parts. Anyway, while I'm not a great-big fan of LOTR (I've seen majority of the films, though), I do think the ending was perfect for the series. One Last Time, indeed.....

Overview:
4/5
