Review:
Wow. What a film, honestly. Like many, I didn't expect the film to be good. In fact, many people were predicting it to be Marvel's first flop; I mean when a movie features a CGI talking raccoon and tree, people aren't exactly bound to get their hopes up....
But, of course, Marvel now has us all biting our own words, because Guardians ended up being terrific. I was thinking that it could end up as one of my favorite films, but I tried to close of that expectations when I watched the film. It might not end up being a favorite of mine-give it a few more watches and it probably will-but it's a marvelous movie. None of the characters should be like able, yet are completely and totally like able. Each character has enough of a background that you feel like you really know these characters, and you really see some development in the characters.
It's got plenty of action, and a lot of setting up for The Infinity War, but it works out well. The movie is also positively hilarious; Rocket Raccoon practically stole the show for me, and I've got a few favorite quotes from the movie. It's an awesome movie with a lot of heart, and it's basically The Avengers meets Star Wars, which is good enough for me. Plus it's got an awesome soundtrack! ;)

Good review Tegan! I absolutely ADORE this movie -- like most people. :D But I did expect it to be a hit. From the first time I saw a trailer. I'm not entirely sure why, but I think it mostly had to do with how Han Solo-esque Star Lord appeared to be. And the music. That helped a lot. :D Or how out-of-this-world and bold it looked... and it delivered on everything!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Peter *does* remind me of Han Solo a bit, now that you mention it. The music was awesome; that it most certainly did, it definitely delivered! :)
