What's that, in the mirror? In the corner of your eye?
Today's episode of Doctor Who really made us Listen-had to do a pun, sorry-and kicked out one spectacularly creepy episode!
Synopsis:
Clara and Danny are finally having their date-but are they? The Doctor keeps interupting the date, trying to puzzle together a mystery, one that has haunted every single child in the universe: what's under the bed?
Review:
Wow. The opening scene is actually one from one of the trailers, which I presumed was specially shot. The opening montage felt like it was talking to the audience more than anything else (like the ending to Blink). Parts of the episode is mainly just Clara attempting to have a date with Danny, but it's one awkward first date. There seems to be a running reference to Clara's future, which doesn't seem to be good, given all the rumors. The episode certainly had it's freak out moments, and had some extremely clever moments, some of which made my mouth drop.
While there was some definite 'creep out' moments, there was also some seriously hilarious scenes that made me burst out laughing, especially toward the end of the episode. This episode is really creepy, and has a satisfying end to it.

Listen is probably my favorite episode the season thus far. It was a nice throwback to my favorite, "Blink." It balanced the humor, creepiness, and timey-wimey-ness perfectly.

It did balance out all those things perfectly-and everything in the end had a perfectly reasonable explanation. It really left the 'was it a monster or was it something else' question hanging in the air. The funniest parts to me was 'Why have you got three mirrors? Why don't you just turn?' or when Clara hugged him at the end! It was definitely creepy, and was definitely timey wimey. Glad you enjoyed it!
