The Sarah Jane Adventures: The Eternity Trap Review

Hello! Back with another review! This time it's of my favorite story of The Sarah Jane Adventures. Of course, I'm talking about the series (season) three story, The Eternity Trap. The Eternity Trap is SJA's version of a ghost story, and even I, a huge fan of Hide, have to admit that in the ghost-hunting department, The Eternity Trap beats Hide. This is my favorite episode of the whole series, so this review may be bias.

Overview:
Sarah Jane, Clyde and Rani head out to help Professor Rivers and her assistant Toby investigate Ashen Hill Manor, a supposedly haunted manor that has caused several disappearances over the years. But when the group start to get warnings from the spirits in the manor, and find that something evil lurks out on the grounds, things change dangerously.

Review:
This episode, as I stated above, is my favorite episode of the series. It's also one of the more creepier episodes of SJA, and has a lot of paranormal things in it (loud sounds, wet footprints from nowhere, kids laughing, ect.) that are seen a lot in different ghost stories or movies. However, it adds a SJA touch to it, but telling you how would reveal the plot, so my lips are sealed. The episode was mostly centered around Sarah Jane, Clyde and Rani, and Luke was absent from the episode. Professor Rivers (every time I hear that name I think of River Song) made her third appearance in the show, and her assistant Toby made what I think is his first appearance. In the 'ghost-hunting' department, The Eternity Trap beats Hide, but as good episodes, the two episodes are evenly tied (because Hide is just so darn good!). The Eternity Trap has a bunch of different references to different shows and things, and I actually get some of the references in it (Ghostbusters references, and a reference to Spider-Man). This episode might not be very scary, but it's still one of the best episodes of the show. (And I don't say this lightly because, in my opinion, there's only been one bad episode of SJA).

Stars: Five out of Five

Note: Well, in the television department, there is sad news. Psych, one of the shows that I watch, is sadly on it's last season, which I just learned Sunday. While I could rant on for ages why it shouldn't end, I'm just going to go with it, because if nothing ended, nothing would ever get started.

  1. Since I haven't seen the episode, I can't too much about it. However, your review makes me interested in at least watching this story arc of episodes from the series. :) I am glad to see you posting more lately as well!

  2. It may be hard to find to watch, but there are some other really good episodes-most of them are good, though. Thanks!
