Doctor Who: Winner Takes All (Jacqueline Rayner) Book Review

Alright, today I'm reviewing one of my personal favorite Doctor Who books, in fact I think it's the first DW book I ever finished. I could only be talking about Winner Takes All, a book that is mainly set on Earth, and features the 9th Doctor and Rose Tyler. It also featured Jackie and Mickey.

Overview:
After a short phone call with Jackie, Rose and the Doctor head back to Earth, and find out about a new giveaway-either win a games counsel, or win a vacation. But when Mickey, who owns a game counsel, goes missing, the Doctor and Rose quickly realize that not all is what it seems.

Review:
I love this book. It's mostly centered around Rose, but chapters are sometimes in the POV of the Doctor, Mickey, or original character Robert. The book is just an absolute gem, funny in some parts, clever in others, and-again-could only be described by three words: pure Doctor Who. Jacqueline Rayner does a great job at the Doctor and Rose (which is surprising, as they were only in their first series, and I've noticed that books that come out in a Doctor's or Companion's first series, the characterization is not at top form), as well as Mickey and Jackie. It also featured a subplot that tied into the actual plot, one that I will not reveal as it will take away a surprise. It's one of my favorite Doctor Who books, and, from the ones I've read with the Doctor and Rose so far, the best one with those two at the helm. As I've said before, a wonderful book, and a gem. This is, if you can find it, a must read.
