Doctor Who 50th News

Many questions about the 50th have arose, but my  main concern is the whole in Cinemas, and in 3D.
Why?
Well, I'm a Whovian who lives in America, so I was worried if it was going to be released to theaters that I wouldn't be able to see it if they didn't put it in a theater close enough to me, and also because I don't like 3D.

BUT, hold on, a piece of information has been sort of released.

The Official Doctor Who Tumblr was asked if the 50th would be able to watch on TV, and in 2D. What was their answer?

'Yes! (details soon)'

What can we expect from that answer? This was after Matt Smith was announced to be leaving in the Christmas Special, so, It's fairly recent news.
