Doctor Who Series Seven Part 2: What we know so far

With the Christmas Special right around the corner, let's look at what we know so far about Series Seven Part 2...

 1. There'll be a new companion: Yes. Her name is Clara-played by Jenna-Louise Coleman, who made her Doctor Who debut in Asylum of the Daleks as Oswin Oswald-, and she seems to be from Victorian era, from the looks of the trailer of The Snowmen. But haven't we heard that she's from Modern times? Interesting. Also, is 'Clara' related to Oswin somehow?

2. The Doctor has changed. Yes-from the looks of the mini-episode, The Great Detective, the Doctor has changed a lot since he lost the Ponds, no longer caring as to what happens to the rest of the world, and has 'quit' helping people.

The New TARDIS Interior
3. The TARDIS will change. Confirmed TARDIS interior will in fact change, and it will make its debut in The Snowmen.

4. One episode involves the Cybermen, and that the Cybermen will get a new look-we've seen on set pictures of the new Cybermen.

5. Another episode, called 'Journey to the Centre of the TARDIS' is an episode revolving around the TARDIS, and it explores further into the unknown areas of the TARDIS. (This may or may not stay the same-the plot may change from now to then)

6. The Theme and Title Sequence are going to be different for Series Seven Part 2: "We can't give too much away about the new-look titles, except to say they are wonderfully dramatic and striking, with a couple of unexpected touches. In short, they're a perfect way to welcome back the Doctor!" The Theme song is receiving a 'new arrangement' that 'remains true to the original, written by Ron Grainer back in 1963." "On Christmas day you'll hear it as it's never sounded before. This latest version is more thrilling and powerful, but retains that slightly scary quality that remains stirring no matter how many times you catch it"-The BBC on the new theme song and title sequence.

Theory and Question Time

The Companions: From Left to Right: Amy Pond (Karen Gillan),
Martha Jones (Freema Agyeman),
Rose Tyler (Billie Piper),  Donna Nobel (Catherine Tate),
and Clara (Jenna-Louise Coleman)

  • I bet that 'Clara' is in fact from the Present, but has somehow been transported into the past.
  • Is the Sontaran we saw in the preview in fact Strax? Or is it another clone? [It has been confirmed by the actor who portrays Strax, that it is in fact Strax, and there's a scene where they explain what happened to him]
  • How will 'Clara' convince the Doctor to help save the world from the Snowmen?
  • What will 'Clara' be like?
  • How is 'Clara' related to Oswin? Is she related to Oswin?
  • Who are the Children seen in the previews and sneak peak photos?
  • What will the TARDIS look like now? Will it be darker, to show how much the Doctor has changed due to losing the Ponds?
  • Will us Whovians ever stopped making theories about the new season? Oh, wait, I already have an answer for that; No.
  • Will there be a trailer for Series Seven Part 2, and a Premiere date, after The Snowmen?
Who is the new companion? Why haven't they released who she is, and where's she's from? What's her last name? And why has it taken so long for the BBC and the Doctor Who crew to confirm her name is Clara? Why is it some big mystery?
