Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: Many Heads, One Tale Review

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has returned on a high note so far this season, between the various story-lines revolving around all the characters (Andrew being Lash, Bobbi's recovery from what happened in the season finale, Daisy putting together the Secret Warriors, and finally, what happened to Simmons on that planet.). Tonight gave us some much needed answers, and many moments that had the Fitz-Simmons shipper in me screaming. Yeah, it was that good. So, onto the review!

Synopsis:
Coulson green-lights Operation: Spotlight, an attempt to gain information on what the ATCU really is doing with their Inhuman captives. Back at the base, Fitz and Simmons deal with knowing how they both feel about each other, especially with Will back on the planet. Meanwhile, Ward is determined to find something that could level the playing field in the war against S.H.I.E.L.D., and uncovers a disturbing secret.

There are some spoilers in this review. Be warned.
Review:
Like many previous episodes of AOS, tonight's episode left me laughing, screaming and gasping. Just your typical Tuesday night for a S.H.I.E.L.D. fan. Each of the characters were given something to do, even side characters that have been mostly held in the highest of suspicion with fans (including myself). The plot itself is heavily entwined with the rest of the season, and leads back to the main question every fan has had since episode five: why was Will even on that planet to begin with?
The answer to that leads into spoiler-territory, so I'll try to avoid that.

The actual mission, Operation: Spotlight, feels like a heist movie-just without the actual heist. Daisy and Mack, having been one of my favorite aspects of this season, is basically support for the rest of the team, and it actually works in the show's favor, leading into some humor and, later, concern for the rest of the characters' well-being.

Of course, the best aspect of tonight's episode is Fitz and Simmons (but I'm biased, but whatever). We finally got that fight and talk we were waiting for, and Fitz has admitted a concern that his and Jemma's relationship is cursed due to how many times they've been separated (like we needed to be reminded). Then there was the scene that made me scream my head off, but that would be spoilers....I am trying my best with the spoilers. But all of me just wants to squeal and jump up and down. Ahem, but back to the review...

Oh! And every one's favorite baddie that we all love to hate, has returned. Yeah, Grant Ward is back, and is even more dangerous and sarcastic than usual. We see just how much Ward has changed since season one, and just how far he's willing to go in order to complete his goal, and more.

There's so much going on in this episode, and it carries it flawlessly. If the rest of this season is as good as the first  eight episodes, then we're in for a fantastic ride.
5/5 (I would say eleven out of ten but my rating system doesn't allow that)
