Synopsis:
Kirsten Clark is recruited into a government agency where she is 'stitched' into a recently deceased person's mind to try and solve the mystery of how he and several others have died. But when the group discovers the mystery has a ticking clock on when to solve it (literally), they must learn to work together.
Review:
To be perfectly honest, I wasn't holding out much hope for this show. The trailers looked intriguing, but other than that I wasn't really thinking it'd be very interesting.
I was wrong.
Instantly, the episode starts with what usually drives me up a wall (the infamous '10 hours earlier' bit), but it didn't this time because the scenes in between kept your focused, and best yet, perked your curiosity to the point that you weren't going 'just get on with it already'.
The episode's plot is simple: Kirsten is recruited by a government agency to be 'stitched' into a recently deceased man to go through his memories and see what happened to him, which leads into a bigger mystery. The show seems to have an over-arching plot that I won't mention here, but seems interesting enough if they had a bit more twists because what they revealed last night wasn't entirely shocking.
Another added bonus was the references; there was a Doctor Who reference within the first thirty minutes, followed by a Star Trek one, two Batman references and a Lord of the Rings reference. All packed into one hour of television.
The cast has good chemistry so far, especially between Cameron and Kirsten, which the show might lead into a 'will-they-won't-they' since it was....implied I suppose last night (not very subtly, or as Cameron would put it 'no filter), but it should do well enough.
In all, it was an interesting pilot, and it reminds me of shows like Eureka (which is also kind of fun since it has Eureka veteran Salli Richardson-Whitfield in it, and Alison Scagliotti, who played in Eureka's sister show Warehouse 13, and also showed up for an episode on the former). Will I be tuning in next week?
Oh yes.
Notes:
you can view the pilot on ABC Family right now if you're interested!

Sounds interesting! Must check it out now :)
