Avengers: Age of Ultron Review

Yesterday I finally got to see Age of Ultron, which means it's onto the review!
(note: spoiler-free)

Synopsis:
After discovering the secret to a perfect AI, Tony Stark is determined to create a suit of armor that will save the world, even when the Avengers can't. But when the suit, named Ultron, wakes up with a very different path to peace than his creator, the Avengers are forced to confront their fears, and still try to save the world. 

Review:
I'll be frank: I was worried when I walked into the theater. The film had gotten so many bad reviews, there was so much hate for it on Tumblr, I was worried I wouldn't enjoy it. But when the Avengers theme started playing, I knew it'd be okay. The film kicks off with an action sequence that ties in from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and while at times the effects weren't quite as good as the original, it still wasn't a big problem for me.
The humor in the film is spot on; if you were worried that this would be Marvel's 'grim and gritty' DC-esque film, then your fears can be put aside because I was laughing my butt off all through the film, as was the rest of the theater. Sass and one-liners were everywhere; one-liner after one-liner from Tony kept you laughing your butt off, and the running gag in the film (no spoilers) was hilarious.
Ultron himself wasn't as terrifying as I thought he'd be from the trailers, but rather was sassy, sarcastic and had a sense of humor at times (I guess he inherited it from dear old dad), a trademark recently in James Spader's roles (see: the Blacklist).

Pietro and Wanda Maximoff, while mostly side-characters for the first act of the film, become main characters in the middle and final act of the film, and provide their own charm. While he doesn't get many lines, Pietro is always sarcastic, and easily lovable. Wanda is just awesome, and while I liked her to begin with, there's a scene in the movie where you can't help but go 'her! she's awesome' or 'heck yeah, new favorite character', ect.
There is one character that absolutely steals the show. Clint Barton. Even though he wasn't much of a big role in the first Avengers (not until the final act, anyway), he's the heart of the team in this one, and if you don't walk out of the theater loving Clint Barton, I don't know what to say to you.
Maybe not as good as the first Avengers (but what could be?), Age of Ultron is certainly undeserving of all the hate it's been getting, and since the movie finished, I've been wanting to experience it again. Here's hoping the DVD comes out soon, right?
