Doctor Who: Dalek Review

I'm back with another review, this time a review for a Doctor Who episode from Season One of the revived series. As I write this, I realize two things: I have not written any reviews for any episodes before series seven of Doctor Who nor have I posted about Doctor Who (excluding it's presence in my Top 5 Favorite Television Shows), and I promised to write this particular review way back in...well, I can't remember the name of the post I promised this is, but anyway, I remembered the idea of the post when I was reading Doctor Who TV's dream-run poll's results. So, onto the review!
(Spoiler Free)

Synopsis:
The Doctor and Rose end up in an museum for aliens in Utah, 2012, where one of the alien occupants is very much alive, and just so happens to be the arch-enemy of the Doctor....and now it's loose.

Review:
This episode, written by Robert Shearman, is sometimes qualified by the Doctor Who fandom as one of the best episodes of the season, and it's not very hard to imagine why: the whole episode is filled with tension, and is a great re-introduction to one of the most infamous Doctor Who villains ever: The Daleks. Quick rundown of what a Dalek is, in case some of you don't know: A Dalek is an alien creature encased in a metal shell, with weapons attached (okay, it's whisk and a plunger, but still.), and they are bent on destruction, or extermination. They've been the arch-nemesis of the Doctor since....since the second Doctor Who serial ever: The Daleks. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I do believe the Daleks have met every single incarnation of the Doctor. The Daleks also created an unusually high death count in the Classic Doctor Who episode, Resurrection of the Daleks.
This episode I suppose if I had to choose a favorite from Series One, would be my choice. At some points during the episode, you feel quite sorry for the Dalek-excluding the fact that it was a mad, homicidal alien-and at other points, not so much. The Curator of the museum (if you can call him that), Van Stratten, is very arrogant, and pretty much deserved the ending of the episode. It's quite interesting to note that the episode takes place underground Utah, 2012, when in fact, another episode happens to be in that same place in the same year-The Impossible Astronaut. It's also kind of funny to think that when I first watched this episode (sometime in 2007, I think) that it took place in the future (and, boy, did 2012 seem a long way off when I watched this episode and another episode that took place in 2012, Fear Her).
The episode really showed the Doctor's hatred to the Daleks, which had grown since the Time War, and also showed how the Doctor and the Dalek was...oh, I hate the say this...was so much-alike.
Also, this episode is the perfect example of Captain Montgomery's line in the Castle episode, 'Wrapped up in Death': 'There's no upside in [messing] with things you can't explain.

     Overview:
     4/5

Note:
I'm thinking of review other Doctor Who episodes, and a list is forming in my head, so here it is:
The Girl in the Fireplace
The Daleks in Manhattan/Evolution of the Daleks
The Unicorn and the Wasp
Time of Angels/Flesh and Stone
Vincent and the Doctor
The Impossible Astronaut/Day of the Moon
A Good Man Goes to War/Let's Kill Hitler
Asylum of the Daleks
