Agents of SHIELD: 'F.Z.Z.T.' Review

While many don't like Agents of SHIELD, I myself have been watching every week and really enjoying it. Though some say it hasn't really found it's beat yet, I think that it truly has with this episode. As always, spoilers below.

Overview:
When a body is found levitating in the air, the team is called in to investigate. Is there a killer out there? Or worse? Things get worse when one of the team is the next target.

Review:
Not many shows can make someone reduce to tears on only their 6th episode, but this episode made me cry, and I'm not ashamed to admit it. Not full on balling my eyes out like watching Doomsday (Doctor Who, Series 2), but there were tears. The episode was lite on humor, surprising for such a usually hilarious show, and it turned to quite the serious episode when part of the FitzSimmons end up with the alien virus. The part of that would be Simmons, who is forced to work alone in the lab for contamination reasons. But when they figure out that they can use to Chitauri  helmet to create a cure, no sorry, antiserum, Fitz runs and grabs it-rather bravely considering it contains a virus-and runs into the lab with Simmons. Meanwhile, the other part of the team has no choice but to stand and watch helplessly, much to Ward's dislike. Back in the lab, they think they may have found a cure, but that single shred of hope is cut too short. Simmons walks to the glass door and asks Coulson to call her father to tell him what had happened, believing that her mother would take the news better from her father. Finally, in the climax, Simmons knocks Fitz out, and-due to the fact that if she dies on the plane, the plane will go down-jumps out of the plane-or 'Bus'-to save them. Fitz wakes up before this, and screams for her to stop, realizing the anti-serum did in fact work, and finally gets the door open just as she jumps. He runs, with the anti-serum in hand, and tries to dive out to save her with a parachute, but Ward jumps in and does it instead. Thankfully, he saves her. This episode was one of the best I think, because I was the edge of my seat. When they thought they had the cure, I was so happy, and then it went POOF! Gone was the hope. I started tearing up when Simmons asked Coulson to tell her parents what had happened. By the end of the episode when Skye hugged Simmons, I was crying from happiness.
One of the best episodes HANDS DOWN. Love it, absolutely love it!

  1. While I did not cry (I never do), I do agree on all other points of your review. That episode was amazing! So sad at a few, and I am so happy to see more of Fitz and Simmon's backstory. I love those characters so much now!

Chitauri is the correct spelling by the way. :)

    Excellent review.

    1. FitzSimmons and Skye are my 3 favorite characters on the show-I love their friendship, all three of them-and this episode was really sad. This episode serves a great deal for them. Now if only they would stop going after my favorite characters and I'll be fine! (Skye last week, Simmons this week, and it looks like Fitz next week). Thank you for the correct spelling, I shall update the post. Trying to sound out alien names just does not work! Thank you!
